St John’s is a lively, vibrant church, easily visible and very significant to the community. The warm, friendly atmosphere is appreciated by everyone who comes, and newcomers are made especially welcome. There is a wide variety of services, ranging from the quiet reflection found in the traditional early morning Communion service, to active, sometimes even exuberant Family Worship, plus a regular, modern version of Holy Communion. Refreshments are served after the main service, giving great opportunity for a time of fellowship, and for making new friends. Prayer plays an important part in the life of the parish – all are welcome to regular, weekly times of prayer.
The church building is a local landmark and can be seen for many miles in all
directions, acting as a focus for the whole village.
It is an attractive church, inside and out, and makes an ideal setting
for weddings, baptisms and funerals, and many of these occasional services take
place each year.
